June brings new life and so much new celebration with it.
Just look at nature – the spring ushers in a new beginning in the plant and animal kingdoms and it is breathtaking to take in all the new growth around us.
For me specifically, spring means new life spiritually. Of course we just celebrated the Easter season, but it also marks my own spiritual re-birth and dedication to Christ, so I am particularly grateful for the new buds and blooms that remind me I am a new creation in Him!
Speaking of new life, I am so thrilled to announce the birth of something new here on the family section of FaithGateway.com!
Not only will you be able to read excerpts from some of the top Christian family and parenting books out today, but starting this month and moving forward, you will also be hearing the voices of real moms walking through exactly what you are going through day in and day out.
Just as every child is different, so is every parent. But there is one thing that remains consistent through it all: God. When we fix our eyes, minds, hearts and soul on our heavenly father, He guides us in a way that no one else ever could.
So we here at FaithGateway.com have teamed up with some of the amazing Tommy Nelson Mommies to bring you practical ways to parent each day, with inside looks at how they have actually put some of our books into practice in their own kids’ lives.
As Tommy Nelson Mommies, we represent all walks of parenting: new moms, moms of teens, adoptive moms, homeschool moms, families with multi-generational kids…you name it, we’ve lived amongst it.
And I’ll be with you on the whole journey to not only introduce our mommies to you each month, but every day to bring you nuggets of love and learning to help you along the parenting road.
God designed us to be in relationship with each other, so regardless of what your family may look like, know that we are all apart of God’s family here on earth and in heaven.
For I am about to do something new.
See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
One of my favorite books I wanted to share with you in June in particular is Thank You God for Daddy by Amy Parker. Even though my kids are in their later elementary years, they still love the delightful drawings, the cadence of the words, and of course, when their daddy reads it to them before bed!
I am so excited to begin this journey with you and I look forward to hearing from you. What do you need help with in your parenting? What are your struggles? What are your joys and successes? The more we engage with and support one another, the stronger our families will be. You’re invited to leave a comment below– we’d love to hear from you!
