Today, we have Printoons creator Paula Alflen back on the blog. This blog is very fitting for most of us, as a lot of our country is blanketed in snow. We hope you enjoy her post today. If you’d like to learn more about Printoons, check out our Noah’s Ark kit, our David and Goliath kit, and our Nativity kit!
I am blessed to live in beautiful Northern Michigan. As I sit here at my picture window, am watching big, fluffy snowflakes float down from Heaven. I feel like I am on the inside of a snowglobe. My winter wonderland is clean and sparkly white. Truly, God is good.
It is easy to make the connection between my view outside to my work with fingerprints. It is just such a miracle that no two snowflakes OR fingerprints have ever been found exactly alike. It is staggering that with all of our technology and the fact that there have been billions of snowflakes and fingerprints to study, God never ceases to amaze us with his artistry.
I realize that not all of you live in an area with snow. Perhaps you could celebrate snow with your children by cutting out snowflakes together and decorating your windows with them (adding a little sparkly glitter makes them extra special). Is your family familiar with Snowflake Bentley? It would be interesting to get the childrenʼs biography about him or look up Wilson Bentley on the internet to see how the first snowflakes were photographed. Those of you who can go out and play in the snow with your kids have a great opportunity to study the flakes together as they fall on your coat sleeve.
However you celebrate snow, it is a great way to remind your children of our Fatherʼs love. Psalm 139:15 states, “I praise you, so wonderfully you made me; Wonderful are your works!” How true! Snowflakes and fingerprints remind us that God is an artist. You are His work of art. There has never been nor will there ever be anyone exactly like you! God artfully created you in His own image. You are a perfect masterpiece in His eyes.
