A Birthday Party How-To from a Tommy Mommy Just Like You
from Erin at Home With The Boys:
Our Little J turned two in June and while searching for the perfect party theme for his birthday bash, I came across one that would fit a two-year-old boy – any boy really – perfectly.
Bugs.
More specifically, Hermie and Friends!
Believe it or not, we had never experience the world of Hermie in our homes until the wonderful people at Tommy Nelson gladly introduced us!
And our boys were instantly hooked – I mean Hermie IS a bug. What boy doesn’t love bugs?
So, a Hermie birthday party it was for Little J and his young friends!
We started off with a simple little craft – making our bug bags with pint-sized tote bags, bug stencils, cut-up sponges and fabric paint. They were adorable and easy to do! Near the end of the party, when they were dry, I filled them with gummy worms, a magnifying glass and these cute frame magnets from Tommy Nelson and sent them home with each child!
I’m no cake decorator so this super simple caterpillar cupcake cake was perfect – and easy to divide up when it was time to serve the kiddos!
But my favorite treats were the dirt cups! And they were a big hit with the little ones as well! I think most kids had a little of both
This party theme was fun and easy to work with and the kids had a blast with all the bugs! I think the only quiet time was when they were glued to the Hermie video!
I would call this Hermie party a huge success!

Erin! That’s fantastic. The cupcakes were probably so great. I like cupcakes especially for kids because they are their size.
Great party, mama!
