I love everything about fall! I’d much rather do snow angels in a pile of leaves rather than wet snow. Can we just skip winter and extend fall to spring?
It has been a family tradition of ours to go apple picking every fall. The kids look forward to the tractor rides, munching on apples, sipping apple cider and enjoying every bite of their cinnamon and sugar donuts.
I believe family traditions are very important. Giving our children precious memories that they can recall for years to come is a gift. Sometimes it isn’t just about sitting down and having family devotions, but living our devotion for Him as a family. God loves it when He sees His children loving one another and getting along.
Here are some pictures of our trip to the apple farm this year:
What are some fun fall traditions that you do with your family?

Traci is a curly-headed dreamer who loves her Savior, adores her best friend called Hubby, and her three children! She never knew how much she would love being at home full time with her kids, but she does (most days)! What a privilege and high calling! She loves to blog, take pictures, cook, decorate cakes, and make her home cozy and inviting! She also enjoys teaching women God’s Word through Bible studies at church and online devotions. It is her desire to glorify God through encouraging and edifying other women. It is her heart’s cry to motivate women to abide in Christ, respect their spouse, and raise their little ones to know the love of Jesus. God’s grace captivates her in such a way that she wants her life to make a difference for His glory.
This line is beautiful- “Sometimes it isn’t just about sitting down and having family devotions, but living our devotion for Him as a family.” And the pictures are so wonderful!
I am looking forward to our November tradition of our “thankful jar”- we write things that we are thankful for on strips of paper throughout November and put them in the jar. Then we read them during our Thanksgiving dinner. I love traditions and agree that they are so important for our kids!
I have always wanted to take my kids apple picking! Sadly, apple trees can’t grow in Florida:) Traditions are so important and I love these pictures!
Traci,
What a beautiful post! Thanks for your reminder about living out God’s word as a family! Your pictures are amazing and I love that “Grace for the Moment” family devotion book you refrenced! I am going to go check it out on Amazon.com now.
Amazing post.
I love creating memories too…
Fun family times are important for children.
Love your photos
I’m a huge believer in family traditions, too! Love your descriptions and the way we can so easily step into your experience through your words and photos. This year, Michigan’s apple crop was destroyed by an early spring and frost, but generally we go apple picking every fall as well. Having cider and munching on warm donuts with our friends is a highlight to most Septembers and Octobers. We also enjoy taking family walks and marveling at the changes God brings to our trees.
Tonight we started the TN devotional I won from you at Allume called “The Hide and Seek Devotional.” The kids loved it! So glad we met, Traci! You were a bright spot in my weekend
So fun! I loved going to the apple orchard when we lived in New England.
Traci, you are such a gifted photographer. It looks like you had so much fun! We love to go to the pumpkin patch and apple orchard, going on hayrides, raking leaves, and going to the Harvest Party. Fall is so beautiful! Can’t wait til Thanksgiving!
